Kingman- Okel Gilliland, 53, Kingman tavern owner died at 2 a.m. Thursday at his home 4 miles north of Kingman. He was born in KY on April 14, 1912 the son of Jack & Ina Sears Gilliland. His first wife, Ethel Hargis, preceded him in death Feb 7 1956. Later he married Elizabeth Caldwell, who survives. Other survivors include a son, Darrell and stepson, Harold Caldwell both at home; his mother, Mrs. Ina Gilliland, who resides near Kingman; a sister, Mrs. Betty Jo Whitford of near Kingman; two brothers, Delno of West Lebanon and Leo of Stab, KY and a granddaughter, Jeanne. A son, Wendell died in 1947. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Woodrow Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Hybarger officiating. Another service will be held later at Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Ky. Interment will be in Sears Cemetery near Stab, Ky.
